      Hi, Carissa. Thank you for asking. I apologize for the delay in my response; I’ve been out of town. Miss Mary is still hanging in there. But this is one of the clusters of flowers in her garden, waiting, among others that are popping up, for her attention.

      Thank you, Inga. Miss Mary is actually still alive. I think my title may have accidentally been misleading. I really appreciate your nice words here, and in your previous comment. Thank you. These flowers are, however, from a cluster of new flowers in Miss Mary’s garden.

      Adrian, you are so kind to leave this comment. Thank you. I just wanted you to know that my title has accidentally led to the wrong conclusion about Miss Mary, who is fortunately still with us. The title refers more to the flowers in her garden.

      Thank you, Allen. Some of my followers have concluded from this post that Miss Mary passed away. Fortunately, she is still with us. The post was more about her flowers, of which more and more new ones are beginning to pop up. I’ve been out of town for a bit, but do plan to stop over soon to see your recent posts.

    Please accept my condolences, although I did not know your Miss Mary I did so, however briefly, through your words. You should find pleasure, satisfaction, and comfort in the little ray of sunshine you know that you represented. There must have been something in the air yesterday … you lost a friend and it would appear that our most elderly of barn cats, Linnaeus, wandered off yesterday. Joanna says that theyknow when their time has come and depart with purpose. She says that she has read and agrees that it is an adaptive response. The argument goes that staying would expose the remaining population to predators and perhaps disease. Makes sense but doesn’t help a whole lot. By the way … nice, and very appropriate, image. D

      What a kind message I’ve discovered here from you. I was so sorry to read about Linnaeus. I volunteer at a no-kill animal shelter in a senior/special needs room for cats, and know just what you’re referring to–this instinct animals have to “depart with purpose.” The older, sick cats always communicate when they’re ready to die. I’ve been away for a few days, and wasn’t able to reply to messages. I saw that one conclusion led to another, after the question came up that perhaps this photograph was an announcement of Miss Mary’s death. I’m glad to report that she is still alive. The photograph was more about the flowers that are growing in her garden, which she is unable to care for. I was very touched, however, by your words, and grateful that you reached out the way you did. Thank you.

    So very sorry to learn of Miss Mary’s passing Melanie……she shared her beautiful garden with you and I know you brought her much joy with your presence and appreciation of her love of that garden of hers with your delicate camera shots. She seemed a most private person but I’m sure it says more than we can imagine that she SHARED that part of her life with you.

      Hi, Pam. I’ve been out of town, and unable to reply to messages until now. I was so sorry that the title of my photograph led to a misunderstanding about Miss Mary, who, fortunately is still alive. The image is of some new flowers that have grown in her garden, but which she won’t see, and won’t be able to care for. I should have explained that when I posted the photograph. But thank you so much for your very caring words and expression of support. You’re right that Miss Mary is a most private person, and I feel so privileged that she has shared this most beautiful world of her garden with me. In a strange and deeply moving way, now I am the one who is sharing it with her.

      Thank you, Karen. I really appreciate your kind words and support. I’m afraid that my title led to the wrong conclusion about Miss Mary. She is still hanging in there, fortunately. The photograph is of some new flowers that are blooming in her garden. Each time I see new blossoms there, it saddens me because I know that she won’t be able to go out to see them. I know it’s kind of strange, but I’m sad on behalf of the flowers.
