Atticus at the Window

While I’m changing gears ENTIRELY after my ice and pond photos, I thought I’d try posting some photos that I take with my iPhone 4S, just for fun.  Up until now, I’ve been using the Panasonix Lumix LX5, which I’m crazy about and will still be using.  Now, I also have the Panasonix Lumix G5 (woot! woot! thanks, Dad!). I will eventually starting posting images that I take with that camera, but in the meantime, here is my sweet bunny-tailed kitty, Atticus (taken with my iPhone):

And then it snowed.

Before I move on entirely, I thought I could give proof that I do actually look UP from time to time. 🙂

While landscapes, or rather pondscapes in this case, are not my forte, you might be interested to see where I took all of the shots that I featured over the last month and a half.

Rejects, batch #3 (It’s a strange and fabulous world…)

Hi, everyone.  Here is the next round of remaining images from my frozen pond collection, photographs that didn’t make the cut for a feature post, but which I’m gathering together this week in batches to close out the series.

Rejects, batch #1

Okay, gang, I’m nearing the end of my ice series.  I have a large number of images left that I’d still like to share with you, but which I’ll group together  in sets this week, in somewhat of a haphazard fashion to speed things along, starting tonight.  In some ways, these photographs, for one reason or another, didn’t make my final cut when I was sorting through things and trying to decide what to post. So, for that reason, they’ve been booted to my own personal “Salon des refusés.” But that doesn’t mean I deemed these images unworthy of contribution;  it just means they didn’t fit whatever my purpose was whenever I posted.

So here, for what it’s worth, is batch #1, of the “refusés”:

Ice Etching

Some areas of the pond are very smooth and clear, as you’ve seen from some of my posts, and so my photographs have often been focused on what I have been able to see beneath the surface.  Others, in the more shallow sections, are rough and bumpy, or scarred by cuts and cracks.  This surface ice in the image below (unfortunately a bit out of focus) looks almost like it has been carved to me.
