CC#11

This is the start of collage 11 and I thought I would post it now, while the image is fairly bright and open.   I’m  not sure where it is headed after this.

Just lettin’ it rip here.  Haha. Bear with me while I figure out what the heck I’m doing. 🙂

This is the second in what I think is likely to be a series of digital photographs (digitally edited) of handmade mixed-media collages I make using a variety of materials I’ve been collecting, such as old postcards, vintage papers and stamps, photographs and drawings (including my own). I’m also playing around with paints, crayons, and pencils. Collage is a whole new medium for me, so I am just getting my feet wet.  The resulting photograph ends up barely resembling (if at all) the actual collage, but does retain certain elements of it. Impaired cognition is the subject inspiring and linking the posts in the series.  The CC in the title refers to “cognitive collage”–just a tag I picked when I needed a file title to sort my images into.

I’m venturing into new territory, one where I have no idea what I’m doing.  I’ve been feeling compelled to experiment with mixed media and handmade collage. Here is my first attempt.
