  3. Sand dollars are one of many creatures I consider ‘most favorite.’ They are echinoderms, and very closely related to urchins. Echinoderm architecture is based in five-parts (imagine the five arms of a starfish). Your image highlights five pettaloids (or ambulacra). Modified tubed feet are used as respiratory surfaces and extend through the many slits. Please excuse the lecture. Very pretty picture – indeed.
