I took me a bit to get oriented but now I see … is this a clam looking from the umbo toward the rim? It’s awfully arched … could it be a Bay Scallop? I loved the scientific name! Had to work on the species several times before I could pronounce it.

I can readily see the similarity to a roly-poly (which we call sow bugs or pill bugs) and Steve G’s millipede. What a fun abstract!
