Again the colours in this are gorgeous/ delicious (which is possibly inappropriate in this context!). They lend the image a real weight – there’s a profound beauty in rot. Like nature’s final gift.

Yes, I agree about the beauty in rot. There is a deliciousness to the leaden colors and jagged textures. Our garden is full of it at the moment. 🙂 –L with E.
