I love that image, Pam. It might be kind of interesting to collect a bunch of the little flowers and save them in the freezer for the summer time. 🙂

Certainly would make an elegant cool drink…..I guess I’ve seen that done with “frozen” pansy ice cubes in punch bowls in summer…..beautiful !

Very nice! I wonder if you found the flower this way or if you froze it yourself (which is something I have experimented with).

Hi, Denise. Thanks so much for your visit. I did find the flower this way. There was an ice storm in Maine, and so everything outside was coated in a layer of ice. Lots of tiny little flowers all captured in coat of clear ice. 🙂

Nice … soft … gentle. The rendering of color reminds me of materials of great antiquity bound in amber. Furthermore … great minds do indeed think alike … I was out with the camera yesterday capturing my own images of ice-bound this-and-that. Stay tuned to your reader! D

It’s endlessly fascinating how ice is able to transform things that we casually pass by into little gems of abstract art. I like the comparison to inclusions in amber, too!

Yay! That makes me very happy. You wouldn’t believe how tiny this flower was. The ice magnifies it a bit. I found clusters of them, too, which I may also post. Little gems in the woods. 🙂
