  1. I love this series, Melanie. (Is it a series?) Your compost images are so original and so unexpectedly beautiful.

    • Thank you, Caryn, for this very kind comment. You know, now that you mention it, maybe it is a series! 🙂 Your comment encourages me to explore that idea, and pass by this compost container more often.

      • I went back through your blog only to realize you’ve posted just two compost photos. Maybe it’s because they are so distinctive and uniquely beautiful that I thought they were a series. It is definitely a concept worth exploring! 🙂

  2. Wonderful, soft tones here. The celery still looks edible. 😉

    • Yes, I thought the same about the celery. It is in someone else’s compost container and it is always filled with the most interesting-looking “rot.”

  3. There is nothing more valuable to a gardener than their compost heap.

  4. Never has a compost heap looked so attractive! Though I’m with George, that celery has life in it yet….soup? 🙂

    • Very nice of you, Sarah. Yes, that celery did still look okay for eating. I can only think that the family whose compost container it is was leaving town or something to have put it out.

Wonderful composition. The soft glow of Nature re-claiming its produce. 🙂

    • Thanks, Joseph. There is an alley I walk down where there is a compost container behind someone’s house. I can’t help but take a picture of its contents whenever I walk by. The colors, shapes, and textures are always so interesting to me.

  8. Yikes … what’s wrong with the head of celery? It pains me to see this having been discarded! Nice image though Lemony. D

  9. L’originalité en beauté. J’aime. Il fallait y penser et voir la beauté qu’il s’en dégage. Bravo
