It beats the heck out of trying to remove backgrounds if you’re all shaky thumbs as I am! The black background here is wonderful. 🙂

Do you use a black background for these or do you manipulate the digital image somehow?

Both! 🙂 I used a piece of black foam core as the background, and then darkened it further in the Lightroom 4.

They are beautiful….looks like Phalaenopsis, my favourite orchid of them all. Set off beautifully against the black background (…hmmmm, I wonder where you may have got the idea from….) 😉
