Beautiful and intriguing. The fractures in the first & second shot reminds me of ancient pictoglyphs.
February 5, 2013 at 4:50 am
Yes, ancient pictoglyphs: I can see that! Thanks!

Great! I always wonder what’s trying to break through from the other side when I see a crack (or maybe that’s my imagination working overtime).

That’s what’s so wonderful about your imagination! I think that way, too, and it’s so much fun!

Intriguing abstracts.

Wow, the first one looks like someone’s brain haha. Or is it me who’s crazy ;-). Love all of them!
February 5, 2013 at 4:17 pm
Ha ha ha! I love that! Someone’s brain! I hadn’t thought of it, but will see it that way from now on! 😀

Je suis toujours émerveillée, tu sais où trouver ces petits bijoux de l’hiver.

That first one makes me think of a beached jellyfish. Very cool!
February 5, 2013 at 9:12 pm
A beached jellyfish! I love that! Someone else suggested a brain! Both ideas appeal to me very much!

Melanie, these are some of my favorites!!! I think they are so beautiful and interesting.
February 5, 2013 at 9:49 pm
Merci, Maman! Can you believe these are all coming from just the area of the pond right near the house?! Imagine if I had had time to venture out to the other side! Next year!
February 10, 2013 at 2:02 am
They look like gifts and puzzles at the same time – they make me want to engage with them. Beautiful shots again!
February 5, 2013 at 10:08 pm
I love that! Gifts and puzzles… Thank you, Richard! I’m so terribly behind and must get over soon to see your posts! I just know I’m missing out on some GEMS!!

Most welcome, Melony….

I saw these several days ago, but just getting back here. I’ve had the images in my head. The glasses are fitted with gold bezels. I feel as if they are important objects dropped accidentally. They were significant to somebody. Perhaps the velvet-lined box was dropped and they spilled out breaking as they fell. They remind me too of items spilled from a shipwreck onto the ocean floor. The glass doesn’t belong in the water.

I love how your mind works… such a vivid imagination… the mind of a storyteller… 🙂 You always give me a wonderful perspective on my own images. Thank you for that!

These shots are really fascinating Melanie, the colors are spectacular and I like the detail that you captured in all of them.
