And we’re off!
Happy New Year, everyone! I’ve missed you all, and can’t wait to visit to see what you’ve been up to! I’ll be coming around your way very soon!

Thanks, Joseph! I appreciate your encouragement. I am eager to share my pond photos. I get a bit obsessed with the ice; it’s one of my most favorite subjects of all. 🙂

Initially I thought you had captured a shot the cork escaping the champagne bottle. All those bubbles bursting on the New Year. 😀
January 3, 2013 at 8:06 pm
Ha ha 🙂 Looking at the image, I can see that! The bubbles here are frozen entirely (in the pond).

Beautiful photo……..nice way to start the new year! HAPPY NEW YEAR Melanie….nothing going on around here other than Sammy’s birthday party yesterday and I’ve had the flu……YUCK. You’ve been missed!
Hugs, Pam

Thank you, Pam. Happy Birthday to Sammy! I’m so sorry to hear you’ve had the flu. That’s no fun. I’m leaving in just a few minutes to see the HOKAFI gang this morning. I’ve missed them so! They had to let little Dasha go over Christmas, which was very sad for us, but I’m so relieved for her… It was time.
January 2, 2013 at 1:39 pm
Oh I’m sorry about Dasha but I know what you mean about feeling relief for those who “need” to go over the Bridge……I hope you and your family had a fabulous holiday! I also hope the rest of the HOKAFI kids are doing well – no doubt they’ve missed you too! Happy New Year….
Hugs, Pam

Warm colors in icy water! I like that. Reminds me of those hydrothermal vents on the ocean floor.
January 4, 2013 at 9:59 pm
Yes, that’s the wonderful thing about the pond up in Maine: it’s full of wonderful and unexpected colors. I hadn’t thought of the hydrothermal vents, but now that you mention it, I can absolutely see that!
