I can’t even imagine what kind of plant that might be.

Thank you, Scott. I was so happy to see that ladybug there. I almost didn’t “spot” her. 🙂

They especially like to hide in dead plants!

Oh, Really ! 😀

With the ribbing of those cases, my first thought was Aliens plant! I expect the ladybird is a bit more comfortable/happy than that though.
A question, Melanie (sorry, I couldn’t find a contact e-mail for you). I do a weekly post on my blog, Imagination is spicy, featuring images by a photographer whose work I like and admire? I wanted to ask your permission to feature some of your photos. Please do e-mail me if you’d like to chat about it: little.squirrel AT gmail.com. Hope that will be okay!

A ladybug? This is a fantastic photo! I love the colors too. The detail and the light are perfect. 🙂

Yes, a sweet little ladybug, nicely nestled in some sort of pod. I can’t remember what flower was there. This is in Miss Mary’s garden!

This really looks like an alien encounter. What variety of flower is this? It’s creepily fascinating. I love it.

I’m not sure what flower this is/was. I’ll have to ask Miss Mary (in whose garden I was creeping around). I find her garden just as fascinating when the flowers are dead as then they are just bursting out in the early spring.

Very alienesque. Great light in the shot.
