An image from our yesterdays…. Very nice, Melanie.

Thanks, Scott. Yes, the farmhouse I was visiting was a stunning old place, full of history.

Are they what you found at all those old barn you’ve been explored
or you saw at somebody else’s boiler room ?
What I’m puzzling is, —– windowsill is not dusty, yet oil-cans having
spider’s cob-web —– ? ? ?
(I’m doing Sherlock Holmes 😀 )
I like the photo as it is my kind of world 🙂

I knew you would notice the cob web! 🙂 The cans are in the window of an old farmhouse where a friend of mine lives (on a sheep farm in Maine). She is about 85 years old and has collected quite a few interesting objects over the years. I couldn’t resist getting out my camera for these cans. She had a great old typewriter, too. Maybe I’ll post that today!

Love this. the composition is great and the processing fits it nicely!
August 6, 2012 at 2:35 pm
Thank you, Carissa. I struggled with the processing. There was so little light in this old house, and I rarely shoot with a flash (and didn’t even have one on hand for this visit), so I had to do a lot of fiddling around to bring out this shot out of the shadows.

I grew up with nearly all of those-my father had almost the same collection.

Very interesting! I found these at a friend’s house up in Maine–a very old sheep farm.

Very good 😉

Thank you for you nice comment!

That is NOT a cobweb. Some Pidey lives there and I know it! EEEEKKK! I am fearless until a tiny spider shows up. Then I’m outta’ there. 🙂 What a farm house.

Wonderful atmosphere. The cobweb is just very mature. Glad to see that you have produced another composition of quality. 🙂

As a former ( 😦 ) film shooter, I love the grain in this shot.

I’m glad you like the grain… It’s helpful to know that it appeals to some people.

Is it weird that I have a weird affinity for old oil cans? I love this shot.
August 28, 2012 at 3:40 am
Not weird at all… I’m right there with you. 🙂 I’m glad you like the shot. Thanks.
