  1. Love it….what colors! Something very “Georgia O’Keefe-ish” about the whole thing.

Gosh, it’s so pretty. Such softness and such a tender interpretation. Your vision is entirely yours. That always amazes me. You take a simple flower and turn it into a melody or a poem or a story all of its own. Not may people can do that, you know. Look at the flower photographs of other people? You will see what I mean.

My post today was for you. 🙂

    • Thank you, George, for these wonderful words and also for your post from yesterday, which did so much to cheer me up. It was the Clematis that helped me learn to see, and now I feel like my mentor is dead (see my comment back to you for “In Remembrance,” if you’re not sure what I’m talking about.). I know that must sound overly dramatic (and a bit crazy that a vine would be personified in this way), but I walked by that Clematis everyday for months and months. My project last October, which ended up in the exhibition where I showed my work for the first time this February (the collection of my photographs of the Clematis was titled “Filaments”), involved visiting that Clematis once and sometimes twice a day over the course of the month, tracking its changes and the spiders that wove spectacular structures within its threads. I felt like my brain and my vision were somehow transformed over that period. An amazing experience. Anyway, the softness you see in this flower and the tenderness of interpretation, I owe to the Clematis. 🙂
