COOL!!! I can’t even tell what it is. Nice depth.

Glad you like it! My tags at the bottom give away what it is 😉

Nice Lemony!… looks like elephant skin, or an alien creature. Amazing detail.

Thanks, Irene! It’s amazing how macro can make us look at something in an entirely new way, isn’t it?! By the way, I absolutely LOVED your photographs of Olivia yesterday. I haven’t had a chance to post comments, but they’re amazing images!

I thought it was a dried up dog chewy!

Melanie, youre response to Irene sounds like what Georgia O’Keeffe said about flowers. The photo is REALLY cool. Is it something you posted recently, only up close?

Hi, Julie. Nope this is a completely new shot… I was completely sucked into this withered flower… it looks so velvety and rich, even in death.

I got to know what it was because of the tags, other wise, I would have thought -as I did at the beginning- that it was a close-up of some iguana’s scales.
Excellent texture!!

Iguana scales: now there’s a good idea! I’ll have to give that a try! 🙂

Hmmm! Not sure I should reveal my Freudian self here but that looks suspiciously like a dessicated PENIS from the local bog. My Jungian self might call it a scabbard, of the noble blade that does the cutting of the past that weighs a woman down.
Well, that’s what you get for being so bloody abstract. Don’t worry, nobody knows me either, yet I am an open book for the reading. 🙂
And none of it is the truth anyway, just to confuse the merely intellectual. I’m a tease today, but never just …

Reveal away! That’s such an interesting “read” of the image. Another fellow-blogger thought it was a “doggie chew.” Put your interpretation and hers together, and now I’ll never be able to look at that lovely flower the same way again! 😉

Very original pictures and this blog is getting more interesting by the day. Freudian ? Jungian? maybe later some archetypal representation. 🙂

You never know where we’re going to end up now, Francis! Things are just getting started. 😉
