This was one of those occasions when I wished very much that I had my real camera on hand. The iPhone just didn’t cut it for me this time. I had fun with the processing, but when I saw the cats sitting on the stairs like this, all I had on hand was my phone, and had to take what I could get. With time and practice, I’d probably be able to get some better results with processing. S and A would never have waited for me to go get my camera. This all just happened by chance. They were sitting on the stairs watching L play with her toys on the floor below (curious, but keeping a safe distance). I’ll have to think of a way to lure them back to the stairs to try again.
Thanks, Helen. I hope to be able to try it again. It was luck that they were on the stairs, and all I had on hand was my iPhone, and I’m still a beginner with that.
Ha ha ha. As you know, I could never have gotten them to pose. It was happy luck for me. Although, I was so sad the whole time I didn’t have my “real” camera. I am never good at getting things in focus with my iPhone, and we live in an old Victorian house (built in 1900), so there is very little natural light. Anyway, it gave me an idea for something to try again in the future, although I have to figure out how to reconstruct the scene again (maybe with tuna?)
I was so glad to have the two of them together, but sad I didn’t have my regular camera for better images. It inspires me to try to do the photos again! But it was complete luck to find them on the stairs this way, so I’m not sure how I’ll reconstruct it. Hugs to you and Sammy!
Ha ha! There is no getting kitties to pose! They were just luckily sitting there and moving about on the stairs as they watched our little one play with toys downstairs. I was just sorry I didn’t have my “real” camera on hand. I wasn’t too happy with the iPhone photos.
Merci, Val.
Thanks, Seonaid! Ohhh, yes, they’re full of mischief these two. It was just by chance that I had the chance to get their pictures like this on the stairs. I snapped away when I saw them like that. I could never get them to do that intentionally.
Great photographers think alike! There must be something about all subjects feline in the air! I’m amazed with what you’ve been able to do with the iPhone, very impressive. Really nice. I like the names too, especially Atticus. I think I’m gonna press the ‘follow’ button … D
You’re kind to compliment my iPhone photos. I’m in transition at the moment, learning my new camera, and eagerly awaiting SPRING! There are a lot of wonderful gardens around here, which I regularly find myself crawling through to take macros (and now, with permission! ) I can’t wait for things to warm up!
It was complete luck that they were moving around on the stairs that way. I just wished I had my “real” camera. I’ll probably never find them sitting that way again.
Cat is yet another language to communicate with others.
I really like this staircase series. They are so nice to sit for you! Serafina is a sweet looking cat too.

Great series Melanie..

How ever did you get them to pose for you?
Lovely series.

Oh thanks for sharing your fur kids with us……….wonderful photos Melanie!

Fantastic – how did you get them to pose like that?

It sure looks like you posed them! Very cool!
J’aime le traitement de cette série. Bonne journée.

Lovely series of photos….they have mischief in their eyes….but what good models they were sitting like that for you

I LOVE what you’ve done with these, Lemony!
Thanks, Julie!

I just love the way they are patiently indulging you:)
Yes, you can see that in their eyes, right.
Serafina doesn’t put up with the camera much, but Atticus (the younger one) is fairly curious about it.
wonderful set. Looks like they are happy to pose.

Lovely kitties! and lovely expressions on them.
Thanks, skadhu!
My favourite is the one with their backs to camera. Very cat like and lovely composition.
I’m glad you like that one. I almost didn’t include it, but I felt it worked well with the series.
Beautiful sequence.
No inserts of Cats the Musical. I won’t make that mistake again – I hope.
This is one for which I wished I had had my real camera and better lighting. I doubt the cats will ever arrange themselves in this fashion again.
What a pair…gorgeous!
Thank you!
